V For Vendetta on DVD

My previous post made mention to the fact that V For Vendetta was considered one
of the Top 250 movies of all time, according to the users of The Internet Movie Database, or IMDb.
After seeing V For Vendetta in the theatre nine times, remember I worked at the movies, I could not wait for it to come out on DVD on August 1st. I knew that I would be in the store to pick up the two disc special edition set early in the morning. And I did.
What you get
When I first heard that the set that I wanted was 35 dollars I was in shock, that is
a lot for a movie, but you really get more than just a movie with this set. The Special Edition set comes with three small posters, a little V mask and the two disk DVD set. Which believe me is worth it.
The Movie
As soon as I got off work I went home to watch the movie, which once again was an amazing experience, if you do not know what the flick is about check out my review. The widescreen version of the film, which I purchased looks great and the story still gets me everytime!
Making V For Vendetta
One thing that makes the two disk set rock is the “Making of”, this documentary is perfect for those interested in film making or who were just wondering “how do they do that?” This Making Of is a great starting point and it only gets better and the DVD’s content continues.
Designing the Near Future
This segment, again in a documentary format, was probably my favorite of all the content on the set. As a film maker I love to see how sets are created, how buildings are destroyed how lighting is done, etc. Designing the Near Future covers all of these aspects of the film and features interviews with the stars and the men and women behind the scenes.
Remember Remember: Guy Fawkes and the Gun Powder Plot
If you have seen V For Vendetta you know that V’s life is inspired much by Guy Fawkes. The beginning of the film shows Guy Fawkes being captured and hanged, but the history is only briefly mentioned in the film. This documentary covers the history of Fawkes and the 5th of November.
England Prevails: V For Vendetta and the new wave of Comics
I am not a comic book person, but I seem to like a lot of comic book movies. Having never heard of V For Vendetta before the theatrical release I had no idea of the character or story before seeing the film. This documentary tells about how V for Vendetta changed comics, especially in England, and talks about the hardships of publishing these comics.
Buy it
I love this film and everyone should go buy it, or at least watch it.
